SPENCER GREGSON-GRAY

Candidate for Elson

I was born and raised in Gosport and educated at Elson Junior School and Brune Park. This is my home. It’s where my values were formed, my work ethic was built, and my character was shaped.

I grew up with very little. Raised by a single mother, we lived in council housing at Trinity Green in shared accommodation with no private facilities. Bread-and-butter dinners were normal. Struggling was normal. Giving up never was. Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of four, I learned responsibility, resilience and discipline early in life. Everything I’ve achieved since has come through hard work and determination, not privilege.

I trained as a carpenter and joiner, learning what real work looks like and what it means to earn your place. Today, I run a recruitment business here in Gosport, built from the ground up through long hours, risk and sacrifice. I didn’t inherit opportunity — I created it. I now employ people, support local families and reinvest in the town that raised me.

I support Reform UK because it speaks for people who feel ignored, overtaxed and taken for granted. It stands for honesty, accountability and fixing broken systems, not protecting failed ones. Coming from nothing, I understand the value of money and believe taxpayers’ hard-earned contributions should be respected.

I am active as a community campaigner because too many people feel unheard. Families are under pressure, costs are rising and decisions are too often made by people disconnected from everyday life. I believe real change starts by getting involved, listening properly and standing up for local people.

I campaign for practical, common-sense solutions that support working families and small businesses, cut waste and ensure local voices matter. I’m straight-talking, accountable and focused on action — because progress comes from effort, not promises.

Where you start doesn’t define where you finish, but it does shape your character. Mine was built through hardship, responsibility and determination — and that’s what I bring to serving my community.

“No spin. No privilege. Just hard work, common sense — and giving back to the Gosport that shaped me.”
