I am 59 years old, and you may have recognised me trundling around Lee-on-the-Solent town centre on my mobility scooter, which I use most days.
My wife, Nicky, and I have lived in Lee for more than 10 years, and we’ve fallen in love with this seaside town.
I’ve never been politically motivated, but after watching the decline of our country, I struggle to see any real difference between the two main parties. They have, in my view, systematically ridden roughshod over the electorate. In fact, I didn’t even vote in the last election because I felt no one represented me. Some might say that means I have no right to complain about this government — and perhaps that’s fair — but I honestly couldn’t have predicted just how bad things would get.
My own background is in business — particularly electronics and housing — and I believe my real-world knowledge could help drive the change we all want and need.
I’ve also lived with MS for nearly 30 years, so I understand the challenges faced by our less mobile and aging residents, especially around accessibility. That’s something I’ll focus on improving.
Overall, I think the town is well run and most people seem happy with the facilities… but, as my wife says, “He never gives anything top marks — there’s always room for improvement.”
So please, come and say hello — the tea’s on me!

"I never thought I’d get involved in politics — but I can’t watch our country decline any longer."
