Philip is proud to serve as Reform UK Councillor for Hardway, following the party’s strong gains across Gosport in the May 2026 local elections. With a lifetime of service, hard work, and community commitment behind him, Philip is determined to help deliver the honest leadership and practical change local residents deserve.

Born in Burnley and raised from the age of four in Portsmouth, Philip has lived in Gosport since 1989 and proudly calls Hardway home. Following in his father’s footsteps, he served as an Aircraft Mechanic in the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm, including active service during the Falklands campaign aboard HMS Hermes. His military service helped shape the values he still lives by today: discipline, responsibility, and dedication to others.

After leaving the Armed Forces, Philip worked for 37 years at Huhtamaki UK Ltd as a Senior Operator and Team Leader, gaining a strong understanding of hard work, teamwork, and the challenges facing ordinary working people.

Philip has also spent time volunteering with a homeless veterans charity, supporting former service personnel struggling with mental health and PTSD. Alongside this, his own experiences supporting families navigating the challenges of Special Educational Needs and EHCP provision have strengthened his belief that local services must work better for residents.

Philip joined Reform UK because he believes local politics should be transparent, accountable, and focused on community priorities rather than wasteful spending and political point scoring.

As Councillor for Hardway, Philip is committed to standing up for residents, improving community safety, supporting local businesses, and helping build a cleaner, stronger, and more secure future for Gosport.
