Councillor Paul Carter  Bridgemary Ward

My name is Paul Carter, and I am proud to serve as the elected Councillor for the Bridgemary ward and the first ever Reform UK councillor in Gosport. I am a long-standing community campaigner, local entrepreneur, and someone who cares deeply about the future of Gosport. For many years, I have supported residents, championed local causes, and stood up for the services and standards our town deserves.

I am a retired commissioned officer in the Royal Air Force Reserve Training Branch, where I served for 10 years as a Flight Lieutenant with the cadet forces. During my time in uniform, I was privileged to help deliver life-changing opportunities, training, and adventures to young people in our community. Supporting cadets as they developed confidence, leadership skills, and resilience—and watching them grow into outstanding young adults—was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Alongside my service, I am also a committed local entrepreneur, having co-founded and run several successful businesses here in Gosport. These businesses have allowed me to employ local people, support families, and contribute directly to the town’s economy. Community has always been at the heart of everything I do, and that same approach guides my work as a councillor.

Over the years, I have become a strong and consistent voice for residents—raising concerns about local services, campaigning for better infrastructure, helping clean up parks, supporting vulnerable individuals, and bringing people together to take real, practical action. My community updates and campaigns now reach thousands of local people, and I am proud to be one of the most engaged and active community figures in Gosport.
