Elly is proud to serve as Reform UK Councillor for Leesland & Newtown, following the party’s strong gains across Gosport in the May 2026 local elections. With strong family values, personal resilience, and a passion for community, Elly is committed to being a strong local voice for residents and helping deliver real change across the area.

Born in Southsea and raised in Waterlooville alongside her three brothers, Elly is proud of her British and Irish roots. Her father served in the Royal Navy for 30 years, while her mother moved to the UK from Ireland in the late 1950s to work as an NHS nurse. Public service, hard work, and caring for others have always been central to her family life.

After moving to Gosport in 2021, Elly quickly grew to love the strong community spirit and friendly nature of local residents. She believes every family should have the opportunity to build a secure future, live in safe communities, and feel proud of their country and local area.

Personal experiences, including losing her husband to cancer and facing serious health challenges herself, have given Elly first hand understanding of both the strengths and pressures facing public services and local families today. These experiences strengthened her determination to stand up for residents and push for positive change.

Elly joined Reform UK because she believes in putting Family, Community and Country first, with a common sense approach that puts people before politics.

As Councillor for Leesland & Newtown, Elly is committed to listening to residents, supporting the community, and working hard to deliver practical improvements that make a genuine difference to everyday life.
